Gabrielle Is The New Miss Wales

Nineteen year old Gabrielle Shaw from Wrexham has been crowned Miss Wales 2013.

It’s the first win for North Wales since Amy Guy, also from Wrexham, took the title back in 2004.

Blonde Gabrielle currently manages her mum’s clothing boutique and has been accepted to study at the London College of Accountancy in September for a degree in law and business. She hopes to become a barrister.

Gabrielle was one of 42 young women from across Wales to compete for the title at St David’s Hall. It was her second attempt at the Miss Wales crown having made the top five last year when Sophie Moulds from the Rhondda Valley won.

The event raised more than £20,000 for Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre for Wales through the Miss World charity Beauty with A Purpose.

Gabrielle, who is the youngest of six children and is an accomplished singer in musical theatre, was supported by her mum Sharon and her dad Nick on the evening.
