I am a 17 year old from Caerphilly, currently studying law, sociology and health care at Coleg y Cymoedd. Aside from becoming Miss Wales, my aspiration in life is to become a forensic investigator which I hope to be studying in university later this year. From the age of 15 having my first job, I have now moved on to my third and have achieved, self confidence, independence and maturity. Being such a determined and hard working young woman, it is my greatest honour to be a Miss Wales finalist. Along with making lots of friends and sharing amazing memories, I hope to inspire and educate young women all around Wales to never give up on your dreams. My experience so far has been eye opening and exciting and I hope it doesn't end here.
I am an Illustration graduate and model/ Youtuber for Milk and Blush. I love to travel and a few years ago I was lucky enough to travel around America, working in food depositories, helping create care packages for vulnerable families, and working with conservation organisations. I have modelled for Lola and Me, a brand that sell accessories made by talented women in Haiti and Guatemala. A percentage of the profits generated from these products is donated to an initiative that gets girls from these countries into education, a cause that I am very passionate about. During the competition I have fund raised money for Beauty With a Purpose and worked with mental health organisation, Mind. I would love to be an advocate for mental health awareness and women's rights. I come from a family of incredibly strong women and I’ve always wanted to follow their example, to have strength and be a positive role model. This time last year I would never have imagined that I would be where I am today due to episodes of anxiety and depression. However this competition, among other things, has restored my strength and self-belief and has provided me with a platform to show other young people should never limit your potential.
I have never experienced something so special and exciting like Miss Wales. Being accepted as a finalist was such a warm, liberating feeling and spreading the news to my friends and family that I was representing my area, I was showered with love and affection. I feel being part of Miss Wales was has made me grow as an individual and has given me a sense of independence. Miss Wales has granted me with thing I wouldn’t normally have the confidence to do like modelling for Cardiff Fashion Week which has become one of the most proudest moments for myself and my family. Being one of the youngest I’m surround by women with more experience than myself, they’ve taught me how to mature and helped me develop from a young girl into a women. I’m still my bubbly, humorous self that loves making people laugh and being part of a group with numerous others there are so many people like myself that I feel I can connect with and that really what it’s about, meeting people that make you smile. Being a finalist your goal isn’t being a winner, a winner to me is being surrounded by the friends you’ve made and the lessons you’ve learnt throughout the journey.
Shwmae! My name is Emma Davies, I’m 23 years old and from Monmouthshire. I am a passionate, ambitious individual and I aspire to be an ambassador for young women. I have a 2:1 BSc degree in international business management and a graduate diploma in law from Cardiff University. I currently work as an event manager and hope to form my own company in the future. In my spare time, I show and compete horses. I have been fortunate enough to have qualified and won at both Horse of the Year Show and The Royal International Horse Show. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Miss Wales finalist, it has been a pleasure to raise vital funds for BWP, whilst promoting female empowerment.
Hello I'm Chelsey 22 years of age from Swansea. I see myself as an outgoing, bubbly and friendly person. I entered miss wales to build my confidence up to help me be the person I was and I also want to make a difference and help children's charities who haven't been so blessed in life and maybe become a role model to them, to show people that Miss Wales isn't just about beauty it's about building confidence and making memories. My interests are dancing and beauty and I've recently started up my own dance classes around Swansea area for kids and adults as well as working in a care home. I would absolutely love to teach autistic kids to dance in the future so they feel they can have something from dancing the same as I have. I can't thank Paula enough for her hard work with Miss Wales it really has been an experience and made me see things in a different light.
My name is Nia Jayne Harries. I am 20 years old and I live in a small town in Carmarthenshire. I am a personal trainer based in Llandeilo and run my own business call NH Fitness & Personal training. I am a motivated person who always believes that beauty is individual. Everyone should be their own kind of beautiful. I am very lucky to have been brought up on a dairy farm and have the support from my amazing family and friends. I have six brothers and sisters who encourage me be to be myself in whom I aim to be their role model for guidance support and love. I have a passion for the outdoors. I love walking, helping on my family farm and I enjoy cooking healthy nutritious meals. This is my first time competing for Miss Wales and I feel privileged to have been selected as a finalist and to represent Carmarthenshire. It would be an amazing opportunity to continue my Miss Wales journey.
Hello, my name is Louise. I am 19 years of age and I am a passionate, outgoing, fun, inspired woman from Llantrisant, part of team RCT. My hobbies are travelling, acting on stage, and being creative with the art of makeup. I work in the mobile networking industry, I also model part time. This is my second time competing for the Miss Wales title, I am honoured to be taking part in such an amazing cause raising money for "Beauty with a Purpose", I took part in Miss Wales again as I did not want the journey to end. It's a journey I will never forget! I’m blessed to be re-living the experience all over again. My goals and my strengths are much the same as they were last year, but with added passion.
I'm a classics and archaeology graduate whose plans were changed last year when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Instead of letting it get me down, I decided that I wanted to spend my recovery bettering and pushing myself, as well as helping others. Having experienced first-hand the amazing work that charities do, I'm even more passionate about supporting them and raising funds. The reason I applied for Miss Wales is because it ticked all the boxes that I was trying to achieve this year, chiefly its focus on charity work and supporting communities. The competition has already helped me achieve all this and more: I've met incredible, beautiful people (inside and out), secured an amazing sponsor, had radio and paper interviews, organised charity events and become one of the faces of Nightingale House Hospice after winning a modelling campaign. This has all happened only a couple of months since finding out I was a finalist, and there's so much more exciting stuff to come. I don't want this journey to end, but if I can do as much good as possible along the way then I'll be more than happy. That is my main aim in the competition.
My name is Awen Vaughan Jones. I am a fun, passionate and outgoing 16 year old girl who has a lot to offer and applying for Miss Wales makes me feel that I can show who and what I really am. I study Welsh, drama and art in sixth form at Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, Llanrwst. I have eight older siblings that I love very much. We are a strong and caring family and I feel so very blessed to have such an amazing mother who does everything to help and support me in any situation. This is my first time competing for the title Miss Wales and I feel so blessed to a finalist - already I feel like a winner! Miss Wales is my motivation and I really don't want this to end and that is why it would be an honour to take the crown and be your Miss Wales 2017.
My name is Ellie and I'm 20 years old. I live in Rhyl, North Wales with a strong supportive family who have helped me become the hard-working woman I am today. I currently work in retail but I have a passion for photography which one day I hope to pursue full time as a career. I have a love for animals and I enjoy taking my two Labradors out on walks around the country fields near my home. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty but on the hand I have always admired the fashion and make up industry. When I was 16 I had jaw corrective surgery because both the upper and lower jaw stopped growing when I was eight years old. I used to get bullied because of the way I looked and how my teeth were crooked. The surgery has not only completely changed my life, it has made me a more confident, strong and empowered person. This is the reason why I have applied for Miss Wales, I want to become a role model for not only young girls, but for everyone who is going through or has been through a similar situation.
My name is Moi and I'm from a little village in north Wales. When I first entered as I was encouraged by my family and friends I never thought I would make the finals! From day one when I got through, I have seen a boost in my confidence which motivates me even more. The Miss Wales competition does so much - it empowers young women by building their self esteem whilst generating money for good causes through Beauty With A Purpose which is a charitable organisation for children in need worldwide. My main goal and ambition is to be the first coloured Miss Wales from a cultural background, as Racism still exists and I hope to battle it and be a great role model to the youth of today, and let them know that it's ok to be different. I want to bring the message of peace, hope and love. And I hope to empower and inspire those around me to feel confident and beautiful always. The February fundraising Month is around the corner and I have many ideas to fundraise for Beauty with a Purpose. One of the main event will be a quiz night hosted by me, which I am so excited to be doing as the event has already had a great feedback and lots of people are interested. The night will also include raffles and little cake stalls which will make it even more fun! Through my journey as a Miss Wales Finalist, I have learnt so much about myself. It has made me more determined, more motivated and not to give up. As I have a full time job with long hours, sometimes it can be hard to juggle everything in, but because I am so determined I will not let anything get in the way. The grand final is only a couple of months away, and I am so excited. The girls are all lovely and welcoming. No matter what happens in the end, I am proud and grateful that I got this far, and I am so happy that everything we've done is for a good cause throughout the competition. To me that is already so wonderful, getting the crown or not.
Hi! I’m Olivia-Kate, an ambitious, passionate, and generous-spirited Welsh woman from the proud steel town of Port Talbot. I am 19 years old and I study law at Cardiff University. I aspire to a human rights and management career. I work part-time in a high-end jewellers. I am privileged to have represented my country previously, playing international netball for Wales. To represent my country again in a totally contrasting manner, is a precious chance to make an impact on others in a wide-reaching and influential way. I have had wonderful opportunities since being selected as a Miss Wales finalist, making many new friends; I have assisted Ty Hafan staff, promoted Miss Wales to youth volunteers, and raised awareness of domestic violence through the White Ribbon campaign. I’ve developed creative initiatives promoting fundraising for ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ such as ‘Beauty with a Bounce’. I feel blessed to have great support, and therefore am driven to empower other young women who may feel lost or unsupported, to understand that barriers are often temporary, and are made to be broken. The Miss Wales experience has allowed me to do just that and more whilst looking and feeling glamorous! What a special opportunity!
Shwmae! My name is Eleanor Lewis, I am from Pontyclun and I am so honoured to have been selected for the Miss Wales final and am grateful for all the fantastic experiences that come with it! To tell you a little bit about myself I am 17 years of age and am an outgoing, passionate (and albeit slightly stubborn) character. The three things which I hold to be most important in my life are education, sport and the environment and are all things that I hope to spread a message of during my time as a Miss Wales finalist. I am currently a student at Cowbridge Comprehensive School studying A levels in history, sociology, biology and the Welsh Baccalaureate. I absolutely love school as gaining an education has been the most empowering aspect of my life so far which is why I firmly believe that it is something which should be accessible to everyone regardless of gender, class or ethnicity. I hope to pursue a degree in law and go on to become an environmental lawyer, I have always been shocked and frankly disappointed by the way humans have been harming the planet and so feel passionate about bringing justice against those who take advantage of the world we live in and to play my role in fighting the battle against global warming which in my opinion is the most important and imminent issue we face at present. Another passion of mine has always been sport, as well as being a massive fan of rugby (being Welsh of course) I am also a keen golfer and have had the privilege of representing my county and country through this. Through my experience of partaking in different ranges of sport I have come to realise the important values it provides to young people. Values such as etiquette, team work, commitment, healthy living and having fun are just a few examples of the things that sport can teach us and is something I wish to promote to people of all ages. I would like to thank my family and friends for the ongoing love and support they give me and to thank the Miss Wales organisation for not only giving me the opportunity to fulfil my goals of becoming a confident and empowered woman but for all the amazing work they do through their charity Beauty with a Purpose.
Hello, my name is Paige I am 18 years old and live in Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent. I’m currently studying fashion marketing in the University of South Wales. Fashion has always been a passion of mine and I am thoroughly enjoying the course so far. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and friends, along with drawing, writing and also walking my dogs Bella and Bruno. I decided to apply for Miss Wales as I have always lacked in confidence but with the support of those around and by stepping out of my comfort zone, I have now grown in self-confidence and would love to encourage other girls to do the same. In the future I hope to have my own clothing line as fashion and beauty are my hobbies. With the clothing line I would like to create styles and looks that compliment all shapes and sizes making women feel the best they can. I am very honoured to be a finalist and I can’t wait to start raising funds for Beauty with A Purpose while representing the borough and country I am very proud and very much a part of.
Hello, my name is Shannon Lewis. I am a compassionate, hard-working and enthusiastic 21 year old from Neath Port Talbot. I am currently studying primary education with QTS at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. I may be short in size, but I have a big heart. I love working with children and being seen as a positive role model. Not only is this evident in my career prospects, but on a daily basis when I support my parents with fostering. It is such a heart-warming experience welcoming disadvantaged children into our home and actively changing an individual’s life for the better. I love to travel and I have previously volunteered in Fiji for four weeks, teaching deprived children with special educational needs. I love the outdoors and most importantly a challenge. I have completed the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award and I am proud to say that I have achieved a Level 1 in British Sign Language. Physical beauty doesn’t last forever that’s why I believe it is far more important to be beautiful on the insid. I consider charity work as such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. My views mirror that of the charity ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ which raises money for disadvantaged children worldwide. As a trainee teacher, this is a cause very close to my heart. This is my first time competing in Miss Wales, or anything like it in fact, but I am truly humbled and honoured to be a Miss Wales finalist. I am so grateful to be surrounded by the most amazing, kind-hearted and inspiring bunch of girls. For me the destination isn’t the priority, it’s the journey, where I intend on raising as much money and awareness as I possibly can for a good cause whilst gaining confidence and being a positive role model for young women.

I am very close to my sister and she makes me smile every day. I am a hardworking, ambitious and driven individual. I was trained within performing arts for nine years, this taught me how to push myself to achieve the highest possible standard possible. I am very proud of the small borough that I come from and enjoy exploring the history within it. I am privileged to be able to represent it on a prestigious platform. I am truly honoured to be selected as a Miss Wales finalist and have enjoyed raising money for the Beauty With A Purpose charity and publicising the fantastic work the charity does. I would be ecstati to represent my country as Miss Wales and continue my journey as I do not want it to end.
My name is Elle Morey, I am 17 years old and I am representing Bridgend. Currently I am studying my A levels in Porthcawl Comprehensive School sixth form. The subjects that I am studying are maths, chemistry and art. I am hoping to attend Cardiff University to study engineering, either mechanical or medical, and then hope to do a further study to become a doctor of engineering, and finally pursue a career in the Royal Army as an engineering officer. In June this year, I attended Cambridge University to experience a week of university life in the engineering department, which then confirmed my passion for this subject even further. I am an intelligent girl and a natural leader, I bring confidence to the table, I believe that this will be a good characteristic of Miss Wales and also to be considerate of others. I want to be Miss Wales so that I can inspire other young girls to do what they enjoy, even if it is 'a boy subject' and aim to empower women and encourage equal rights for both men and women, I want younger children to look up to me and be inspired by what I have become.

Hi, my name is Tiffany and I am a fun, hardworking 19 year old student from Neath Port Talbot. I am currently studying adult nursing at the University of South Wales. Becoming a nurse is something I’ve always wanted to do as it is such a challenging but rewarding career. During my free time, I love going to the gym as well as going for long beach walks with my dog as I believe that living an active and healthy lifestyle is extremely important. I have completed both my Duke of Edinburgh bronze award and silver award by learning new skills and spending my time volunteering in care homes as well as going out on expeditions and camping in all kinds of weathers. The Miss Wales process so far has made me gain so much confidence as well as making me grow as a person. Charity work means the world to me as I believe that there is no better gift than giving to others and to others in need so when there is any opportunity to get involved in charity work I'm always the first in line.

Due to this experience I have been able to grow as an individual, and I can definitely say I have met friends for life. Thank you to Paula for an amazing and unforgettable opportunity, I don't want it to end.

My name is Shelley Ann and I am a dance teacher from Newtown, Powys. I've had a passion for dance for as long as I can remember. During primary school, I always took part in theatre performances and compete in competitions. Growing up with dance as my priority encouraged me to be ambitious and determined for my future. With that in mind I went onto further training in a dance school. I gained a bronze world champion title while competing with a group at the Dance World Cup 2016. I am also an aspiring model and one of my achievements is that I have been accepted into a model and casting agency. I have experienced extra-work on a popular TV soap and have been taught in master classes by the industry’s most famous dancers. When I was young I always dreamt of having my own dance school, this dream has now become my reality. I have entered into the Miss Wales competition to show that I am living proof that if you set your goal, work hard and be ambitious, you can do anything! I hope to become a role model and inspire young girls and boys to be determined, have a passion and be the best they can possibly be.
I am a 22 year old psychology student and swimming teacher. Having been a competitive athlete for most of my life, health and fitness have been at the heart of everything I do. To the extent that sport has shaped my personality and taught me dedication, determination, resiliency and leadership. Due to my own experiences, I am a strong advocate of mental health and reducing the stigma surrounding it. My career aspiration is to run my own charity, offering psychotherapies to those who cannot afford private healthcare or endure NHS waiting lists. I’m always volunteering my time with charity events and fundraising. I’ve even volunteered abroad in the mental institutions in Sri Lanka and a refugee camp in France – I’m definitely not afraid to get stuck in! I think it’s very important we help those who cannot help themselves, after all, one day it could be you. Working with children, I see first-hand how impressionable they are. For this reason, with everything going on in the world, I feel it my duty to be a positive role model. It’s a privilege to have been chosen as a finalist of Miss Wales and I don’t want this journey to end.

I feel privileged to have been selected as a Miss Wales finalist and I'm eager to see what the rest of this journey holds.
Hello, I’m Emma and I am eighteen years of age. I am a driven and adventurous person and being the eldest of three daughters, pride myself on becoming a role model for my two younger sisters, as well as other women all over Wales. In the future, I aim to be like my mother who is a strong and intelligent woman who has been the owner of many business ventures. I aim to become an entrepreneur and work for myself, to travel the world, and most importantly, stay humble. This is the first time I am competing for Miss Wales, my journey so far has been extraordinary and I have thrived in every single moment, and hope it doesn’t come to an end soon.

I can't thank Paula Abbandonato enough for this amazing experience.
