Just a quick update of all the exciting things I’ve been up to the last few months.
I was absolutely delighted to be a VIP guest at the welcome home party for the Welsh football team this summer which took place at Cardiff City Stadium. The team did so well it was a real pleasure to join in the celebrations and welcome them back to Wales.
On July 14th, I spent an afternoon at the races with the Noah’s Ark ambassador Lindsay Doyle, where I judged the best horse and presented the winning jockey with a prize. I also had an interview with the presenter to talk about the Miss World competition and what’s it’s been like as Miss Wales.
I was also invited to go to the Swansea Life Awards – an evening celebrating businesses across Swansea. I was a special guest and I was able to share the experience with one of my best friends. It was very exciting to wear both my crown and sash as the last time I wore both was at my crowning in April. I was lucky to have met Justin Bond from JUST boutique who lent me a gorgeous black gown to wear. The evening consisted of a three course meal, live entertainment and an award ceremony.
Also in the summer, I enjoyed a 30 minute talk on the sofa with BAY TV. Mr Wales and I talked of his experience at Mr World, What life is like as a representative of your country, what plans we have ahead of us and what we hope to achieve during our year at Mr & Miss Wales. I had a great time and the crew were very welcoming. My sister came along and she enjoyed being back stage and seeing her big sister on TV. It was all part of a feature about cars and I got to have a spin with Robin Roberts down the black mountains in an Audi R8. I’ve always had a passion for cars. To experience first-hand what it would be like to own an Audi R8. It was extremely fun. I’m lucky to have the smallest of opportunities as they mean the world to me.
I’ve also had my official Miss World photoshoot. I’d like to thank Paula Abbandonato and Stacey Clarke for this day as it wouldn’t have been made possible without them. The final five images are amazing. We captured the moments beautifully. I now have five gorgeous images I will be proud of for the rest of my life.
The Wedge Walk down Cardiff Bay with friends, family and the Miss Wales 2017 finalists took place in September to raise money and awareness for Beauty with a Purpose with walking a mile in heels. It was great fun and I really enjoyed sharing the day with everyone.
I also held a Beauty With a Purpose pamper party with Ffi Ffi’s Beauty in Porthyrhyd where over ten women came together for a girlie night in. It was a great way for them to catch up, be kids free and having some well-deserved pampering. Most importantly it was all for a good cause. With manicure, pedicure, eyebrow shaping, makeup and massage to offer the evening was a success.
I was lucky to spend a weekend spent at North Wales. I travelled Friday afternoon. When I arrived I checked into a hotel on the front which was located in the town of Llandudno. It was beautiful. I had a quiet evening in preparation for the busy day I had ahead of me.
Saturday 11am I was at the store Clare’s. Where I had my makeup done by Alex from Peggy Sage. The store celebrated their two year anniversary with customers. I had two gorgeous outfits chosen by staff from Clare’s to wear around the store. Meeting and greeting all who came in. I was lucky to receive a £100 gift voucher from Clare’s which I of course spent straight away! The late afternoon/evening was spent with Nicky Roberts & her daughter at their store, Peggy Sage. Where I met customers, shared my experience and knowledge of make up while also sharing memories of my exciting journey so far as Miss Wales.
Nicky took myself and a friend to a gorgeous restaurant where I fully enjoyed a two course meal with great company.
I’m very lucky to say Nicky Roberts at Peggy Sage have given me a great supply of makeup for Miss World where I can continue looking flawless and radiant at Washington DC. I highly rate their makeup and encourage anyone to try and buy.
The first event I’ve attended with my mother was the Small Babies BIG Dreams charity fashion show at Morgan’s hotel in Swansea.
The fashion show including clothing from the high street but also designer wear too. With winter around the corner it was great to see the new trends. I came away with two prizes from the raffle, a cup cake, and a big smile on my face. To see the hard work Kathryn put in, pay off and to also see my mother happy and enjoying the evening made the evening that more special.
I’ve also just recently enjoyed the Red Handed magazine shoot to preview Cardiff Fashion Week. I was styled by the most beautiful Wenda who chose some of the most gorgeous outfits for me to wear. The shoot was taken place at the Masonic Hall in Cardiff. The venue is eye catching and I am very lucky and excited to be a part of Cardiff Fashion Week which will also be held at the Masonic Hall on 29 October.
