If I were to describe my Miss Wales experience, so far, in few words it would be impossible! I am always looking to push myself out of my comfort zone, try something new and challenge myself. I have always followed ‘life begins at the end of your comfort zone”. Miss Wales did exactly this and more. I have always been curious regarding the world of pageantry and decided applying to take part in Miss Wales would not only challenge myself but turn out to be a invaluable and amazing experience. If Miss Wales has taught me anything it is that the ‘cliché’ pageant people are so quick to believe is by far the biggest misunderstanding of all. Miss Wales is about lessons, growth, empowerment and, even more so, charity. Not only do you grow yourself, but you grow along side other amazing women from all over Wales, with all different backgrounds and experiences. I have definitely made friends for life.

Initially, the whole process has a very surreal element. You go from sitting in your living room watching Coronation Street with a cup of tea to attending events you would have only ever seen online or on the television! I feel so lucky to have had the opportunities I have had via Miss Wales and do not want them to end! The Introbiz Expedition that took place in Cardiff not only allowed me to meet inspirational entrepreneurs but raise for a very respectful charity ‘just giving’. Appearing on Scrum V was also an experience I will never forget.
The fundraising element of the competition has definitely been the highlight of the competition (so far). Firstly, I planned a charity ball at my local golf club. It could not have gone better! The generosity of donations whether it be monetary donations or raffle prizes were incredible. The total of this night was £986.50. I like to give everything I do 101% so after several discussions, brainstorms and scrupled scrap paper I decided to do a Skydive. This was the most amazing experience of my life so far. The adrenaline of the anticipation, the jump, and the event as a whole was indescribable. It quite literally takes your breath away. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It’s definitely a tick off my bucket list and one for the scrap book! My running total so far is £1398.70. I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity to raise funds for such an amazing charity ‘Beauty With A Purpose’.

With the final approaching very quickly, I can honestly say the time I have spent being a Miss Wales 2016 finalist is beyond compare. I would like to say a massive thank you to Paula Abbandonato, Giovanni Malacrino and Dave Abbott for the fantastic opportunities they have given me. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am! I can definitely say confidently that everyone will walk away, in April, as a winner.
