So it’s that happy new year time of year when we’re all planning ahead. As usual, my eyes are bigger than my belly (well just!) and I may well have bitten off more than I can chew – but rightly or wrongly that’s never stopped me before. I think the saying is true that if you want something done, ask a busy person. I’m dangerously close to too many clichés now I know but (last one I promise) the more you look the more you see. My ramblings are inspired by this year’s Miss Wales finalists who are absolutely flying with their Beauty With A Purpose activity. I’m genuinely amazed by some of the work they are doing….raising money for the Miss World charity and also doing their bit to empower young women. We’re lining up a month of amazing activity called the FAB FEB FUNDRAISER which is hopefully going to see a Miss Wales inspired fundraising event every day in February for Beauty With A Purpose. I’m genuinely excited about how it’s going to turn out because we’ve never done this before. It’s without a doubt quite a challenge and only time will tell if we succeed. As good as these girls are (and believe me they are!) each and everyone requires a sponsor to support their place in the competition. I think many would be blown away by their commitment and I am imploring (not even gently asking) business people in Wales to support them. These girls are great ambassadors for my brand and yours…and are genuinely good role models for young people in Wales. Without the support of businesses across the country the Miss Wales platform would not exist and we are thankful to those who are already on board. It is only because of you that our contestants are fundraising thousands of pounds for vulnerable kids, providing life skills to school children, feeding the homeless, supporting the campaign for gender based violence…..and basically showing what can be done when you really put your mind to it. Isn’t that what ‘us business people’ are all about? Standing up for something, giving it a go, digging in and making something happen? Please do give them your support….we’ve raised £500,000 for charity in the last 10 years. Be part of the story…you wont regret it.
