Miss Wales 1997– Melanie Jones
It was a major honour for me to be crowned
Miss Wales in 1997 and to represent my place of birth in the
most coveted beauty award in Britain in the ‘Miss United
Kingdom’ contest which was broadcast live on Sky 1 television
and in which I was placed fourth.
I am so glad and proud to have taken part
in the Miss Wales competition as it has enabled me to meet
so many wonderful people from all walks of life over the years.
I would like to take this opportunity to
wish all the contestants all the very best of luck and success
for the future.
