Emma Jenkins wins Miss Wales 2015!

Twenty-two year old Emma Jenkins from Llanelli has been crowned Miss Wales 2015.
Emma, a TV presenter and researcher, took the title on Saturday 7 March at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot.
She was one of 34 finalists from across the country in the running for the crown.
Emma, who is a fluent Welsh speaker, also raised close to £1,000 for Beauty With A Purpose in the run up to the competition with a series of raffles, bake sales and a curry night.
She said: “I am overwhelmed by all the support I have received and I would like to accept the crown on behalf of all of this year’s finalists. I want to use the title to be a part of something special and really apply myself so that I come away with a real sense of achievement. The work starts now and I am committed to doing the very best that I can.”
The Miss Wales grand final involved three appearances on the stage for finalists including the patriotic Welshwear opener; a Tempest fashion catwalk where finalists modelled the dresses of our headline sponsor; and the traditional evening wear parade. All finalists also had one to one interviews with the panel of six judges.
As well as the catwalk event, the contestants attended the  Miss Wales Charity Ball the night before and took part in the Miss Wales Empowerment Day to help them in their personal development and leadership skills.
In total the competition raised in the region of £12,000 for the Miss World charity, Beauty With A Purpose.
Other award winners on the weekend were:
Theresa Ashley from Cardiff who was first runner up
Olivia Larkman from Port Talbot who was second runner up
Shani Lane from Cardiff who won best hair
Lauren Woolf from Tredegar who won the public vote and raised the most for charity
Jade Cherrington from Risca who won the ‘Miss Socialite’ award for the best Miss Wales social media campaign
Sophie Bettridge, Carol Howells, Kyarna Weed and Laurent Woolf of Blaenau Gwent who won the best team award
Sadie Pulman from Cardiff who won the Spirit of Miss Wales award
Paula Abbandonato, who organises the Miss Wales event, said: “The whole weekend was an incredible experience and a real celebration of the achievements of all the finalists who have worked so hard in the run up to the big night. I want to thank and congratulate them all and wish Emma the very best of luck for her year as Miss Wales. I am sure she will do us all proud.”
