The 2016 FAB FEB FUNDRAISER

The Miss Wales 2016 finalists have just completed a month-long charity initiative called the FAB FEB FUNDRAISER.

The FAB FEB FUNDRAISER programme saw 40 finalists from across Wales doing a series of special events and activities on nearly every day of the month to raise money for the Miss World charity Beauty With A Purpose.

Fundraising events included everything from sponsored walks and charity swims to sponsored dance sessions and curry nights.

The thinking behind the FAB FEB FUNDRAISER was for the finalists to use the Miss Wales platform to really make a difference to those less fortunate than themselves.

Miss Wales organiser, Paula Abbandonato, said: “Miss Wales is committed to Beauty With A Purpose and that means empowering young women and raising money for good causes through the glamour and fun of pageantry. The girls get to make great friends and experience new opportunities while really doing their bit for charity.”

While the highlight of the fundraising programme has been February, many of the contestants have been organising charity events for months and are continuing to do so up until the Miss Wales final on 14-16 April.

The final celebrations will include the Miss Wales Empowerment Day with the UK’s leading life coach at the Swansea Marriott on Thursday; on Friday 15 April, the finalists will attend the Miss Wales Charity Ball also at the Swansea Marriott; and on Saturday 16 April, the new Miss Wales will be crowned at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot.
