Beauty business can cash in on Miss Wales
pageant
Business in
South West Wales are being given the opportunity to cash in
on the revitalised Cellite Clinic sponsored Miss Wales competition
– by fast-tracking their local girl into the competition
final.
The offer from Cardiff agency Vibe, which
works directly with Julia Morley, to guarantee a Welsh presence
on the Miss World stage, will give local businesses the chance
to stage their own local heat.
The winner of the heat will have a guaranteed
place at the Miss Wales final in Cardiff on Friday 22 July.
The local titles up for grabs are Miss Neath Port Talbot,
Miss Carmarthenshire and Miss Pembrokeshire.
The Miss Swansea title has already been
snapped up by Jumpin Jaks who will run their qualifier heat
in the spring.
In the last two years, the Miss Wales competition
– which has taken place in Swansea - has gone from strength
to strength reaching the front pages of national media and
attracting major sponsorship deals.
More women entered the 2004 competition
than ever before, and Miss Wales 2004, Amy Guy from Wrexham,
did better than any other British contestant at Miss World
and has just been promoted to Miss UK.
Event organiser, Paula Abbandonato, said:
“This is a great opportunity for local businesses, particularly
those in the beauty, fashion and retail industry. There are
a host of benefits available and we’d love to talk to
anyone interested.”
Benefits of running the local heats –
which will need to take place by the end of May - are listed
on www.misswales.co.uk.
