Background

The Miss Wales competition generates around £500,000 of media coverage annually. Around 2,000 young women are expected to apply to take part in Miss Wales 2009.

This year, for the first time in the competition’s history, 22 regional qualifiers will take place to choose the finalists of Miss Wales 2009. These qualifiers will take the form of regional heats across every local authority area in Wales. They will be called Miss Cardiff, Miss Wrexham, Miss Newport and so on.

This year, the competition is expected to raise in excess of £100,000 for charity. Our chosen charity is The Joshua Foundation which helps children with terminal cancer. The heats are taking place throughout the year. The grand final will take place in July at the Cardiff International Arena. A sell-out crowd is expected.

The winner of Miss Wales automatically qualifies for Miss World.

Sponsorship Summary

The sponsorship opportunities are varied. Briefly they are as follows:
Platinum sponsor – the headline sponsor of the Miss Wales competition
Gold sponsor – headline sponsor of individual regional heats
Silver sponsor – category sponsor at the Miss Wales grand final
Bronze sponsor – sponsor of an individual contestant

Platinum Sponsor £6,000

As a platinum sponsor you will be the headline sponsor of Miss Wales 2009.
As a platinum sponsor benefits will include:

Your company name incorporated into all press releasesl (last year coverage obtained was valued at £500,000 – this is an estimate as a press monitoring service was not employed)
Regional photo opportunities with contestants in the run up to the final, such as sponsors this year had local finalists attend launch events and photo shoots, which led to further press coverage

The company will also be the official sponsor of the winner in that regional heats when she takes part in the Miss Wales grand final. There are a number or additional benefits to be had in this respect. These are outlined in the bronze sponsorship category.

* Organisations wishing to sponsor multiple regional heats will receive a discount in their sponsorship fees.
