The Reigning Miss Wales
Ellie Corcoran - Miss Wales 2026
Ellie Corcoran, a 21‑year‑old tech professional from Anglesey, has been crowned Miss Wales 2026 - the first winner from north Wales since Gabrielle Shaw in 2013, ending a 13‑year wait for the region.
Ellie returned to the competition in 2026 after finishing second in 2025, securing the title on her second attempt.
While her family still live on Anglesey, Ellie moved to London to study fashion before switching careers into the tech industry. Alongside her full‑time role, she has recently launched her own social‑media freelance business.
Ellie was also recognised for her contribution to charity during the Miss Wales grand final celebrations. She was the highest fundraiser in this year’s Miss Wales competition – and in her 23 years has raised more than £40,000 for good causes. She also received the award for Most Stylish by the competition sponsors, Jayne’s Boutique. Ellie’s interest in fashion began early. At seven years old she was sewing doll outfits to sell in the school playground and making jewellery from sea glass collected on Anglesey beaches to raise money for local causes.
As well as working full time, Ellie volunteers with Careers Wales, offering practical guidance to young people and helping bridge gaps in stretched careers services.
In her own words
"For me being Miss Wales is all about helping girls and young women along in life. Through my social series 'Career Girl' , I am focused on tackling the “Dream Gap” - the age at which many young girls stop believing in their ambitions. I have also delivered talks to more than 300 students across schools and colleges in Wales. I want to continue to offer an insight into different career paths, drawing on my own experience and conversations with women who are breaking barriers in their fields. I want to help girls recognise their transferable skills, see what is possible, and build the confidence to pursue it."
